My name is Francois Retief. Two of my interests in life are people and fly fishing. I have learnt a lot from both.
I am an experienced guide of people who want to create a life of purpose, integrity, meaning and passion.
Fly fishing is an excellent metaphor to help us rethink our lives. It will be a privilege to be part of your process of rediscovering the important things in your life - and even more so if we can do it with a fly rod in hand!
The "tippet" is the thin line connecting the thicker fly line to the fly. Allthough almost invisible, this piece of line may just be the most important part of the fly fisherman's outfit.
I think our lives work in the same way. The important things sometimes look as though they aren't that important. We often fall into the trap of not giving much attention to the really important aspects of our lives: life purpose, relationships, values, enthusiasm, health, growth, planning...
But deep within we know: these are the things that really matter. And that is why we discuss them next to the fishing waters. And we do it in an informal and non threatening way. This is the way we build a "Tippet Life" - that is tied to what matters.
